It helps in increasing and catalyzing blood flow in the body by reducing the amount of blood clotting proteins in the blood stream. In simple term it is an anti-coagulant also known as blood thinner and belongs to semisynthetic origin. It is prescribed in conditions like deep vein thrombosis, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, rheumatic heart diseases. It is usually orally administered.
