Flutrol contains a combination of Flutrol. Fluticasone(Flutrol) is a steroid that prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Salmeterol(Flutrol) is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing.

Flutrol is used to prevent attacks. It is also used to prevent flare-ups or worsening of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) associated with chronic bronchitis and/oremphysema.

In people with COPD, Flutrol is for long-term treatment. In people with asthma, this medicine is for short-term treatment until symptoms are well controlled with with othermedicines.

USESOF FLUTROL IN DETAILS

This product is used to control and prevent symptoms (wheezing and shortness of breath) caused by asthma or ongoing lung disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD, which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema). It contains 2 medications: Flutrol. Fluticasone(Flutrol) belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways.

How to use Flutrol inhalation

Read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before you start using this medication and each time you get a refill. Read the patient instructions for directions on how to use this inhaler properly. If you have any questions, ask your doctor orpharmacist.

Use this device in a level, flat position. Inhale this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually twice daily (in the morning and evening, 12 hours apart). You may or may not taste/feel the drug when you inhale. Either is normal. Do not exhale into the device.

FLUTROLSIDE EFFECTS

LABA, such as Salmeterol(Flutrol), one of the active ingredients in Flutrol, increase the risk of asthma-related death. Data from a large placebo-controlled U.S. trial that compared the safety of Salmeterol (Flutrol) or placebo added to usual asthma therapy showed an increase in asthma-related deaths in subjects receiving Salmeterol (Flutrol).
