How to useCyclophosphamide
Takethismedicationbymouthexactly as directed by yourdoctor. The dosage is based on your medical condition,weight, response totreatment, and other treatments (such asotherchemotherapydrugs,radiation) you may be receiving. Besure to tell your doctor andpharmacistabout all the products youuse (includingprescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbalproducts).
Nausea,vomiting,loss of appetite,stomachache,diarrhea, or darkening oftheskin/nails may occur.Nausea and vomitingcan be severe. Insome cases, drug therapy may be necessary to prevent or relievenausea andvomiting. Changes in diet such as eating several small meals or limitingactivity may help lessen some of these effects. If these effects persist orworsen, notify your doctor orpharmacistpromptly.
Temporaryhairlossmay occur.Hairgrowth should return after treatment hasended or may even return during treatment. However, newhairmay havea different color or texture.
Beforetakingcyclophosphamide, tell your doctor orpharmacistif you areallergic to it; or to otherchemotherapydrugs(e.g.,busulfan,chlorambucil); or if you have anyotherallergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which cancause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for moredetails.
Thismedicationshouldnot be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine,consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: decreased bone marrow function(e.g.,anemia, leukopenia,thrombocytopenia).
